Hosting: What is hosting statistics?

Hosting statistics or website traffic statistics allows you to view who is visiting your site (ie, from which country), what browser they are using (like Internet Explorer), what pages are populars, etc.

Website statistics come standard with just about any hosting package. This might be important to you or not. It depends on your website and what you want to do with it.

For example, a business site would want hosting statistics. Information such as which page is most popular and which page visitors exit from often can help the business owner fine tune his/her site to keep visitors on their site longer.

There are a number of different hosting statistics tools, that basically show the same thing in a different style. I prefer using Webalizer (which comes with Cpanel hosting packages) because it is so easy to understand and all the important statistical information is presented on one single page.
